Wood is the original kitchen worktop material - and Hardwood worksurfaces are enjoying somewhat of a renaissance today, currently proving to be more fashionable than ever. It's not surprising to see solid wood surfaces grow in popularity, as they have a blend of warmth, tenderness and natural character that no other material can match. They don't just look good - they also have excellent impact resistance, and any scratches can easily be sanded out. Like granite, being natural, no two worktops are the same - but wood surfaces are a lot more affordable.
